"Her Fearful Symmetry" by Audrey Niffenegger
Ever read a book you can't get out of your head? This is one of them. Ghost stories for a spooky October!

Kids Really Rock!
I had the pleasure to draw stuffed animal portraits again for the We Art Boston team, organized by Joe McKendry, at the Kids Really Rock fundraiser in Boston last weekend. I did it last year, and this year was just as fun. I met a lot of cool kiddos and loved hearing their animals' stories!

NESCBWI Recap
Well, I'm sitting at my desk waiting for a layer of matte medium to dry, so I thought I'd write about my experience this weekend at the New England Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators conference. It was…magical!
It was my first conference ever, and my goal was to absorb as much as I could since I could only be there for one day. I listened intently to keynotes by Dan Santat and Jo Knowles, attended workshops and panels, and had a portfolio critique. The best part by far though was meeting other writers and illustrators and hearing everyone's story. It can be difficult just working from home and never knowing that other people go through the exact same struggles & successes. So if I met you last Saturday…thank you!
I can't wait to go back next year and hopefully enter the portfolio showcase, and be able to stay longer than one day. For now…back to work!

Clementines quilt!
I don't advertise this nearly enough, but my mom is an amazing quilter. She made this beautiful quilt from fabric I got printed of my clementines pattern! Go look at her Etsy shop right now!!

Boar Boy
I cannot think of an appropriate title. It's a boy, on a boar! Ink & photoshop. I'm having a lot of fun working in monochrome sepia ink first, focusing on value. Though I love painting in watercolor, I have a lot of issues with value in full color, and working like this has been a fun experiment!
